Standing here, being present I can relate to the object in its form:I like the awkwardness of being face to face with the thing.
Primal concern of my practice lies in the presence of an object in space and more recently of an object
in public and semi-public spaces. Its purpose and function as a society's man-made basic component defines
our spatiotemporal movement.
The concept is rooted in the examination of monumental structures and iconic emblems appearing
as a projection screen of individual's and collective's memories and visions within political, historical, social
and cultural grid, while pursuing the subject of parallelism, encryption, deception and decontextualization.
By representing the represented a space is being prepared to renegotiate visibility, purpose and meanings
of symbols. The process of questioning our viewing habits continues within the frame of a picture. Erasure of
information diffuses the context and exposes things to be examined: It allows to establish new relationships
and to fill the frame with new context.
Symbolic status of a monument builds up on the collective need to preserve from forgetting – which
bound to physical presence evolves into the need to preserve from disappearing, or rather it slows down the act
of disappearance.
Discovering and creating codes, I en-vision could be a proof of some sort of sense of it all.At the same time I actually expect to find nothing but nonsense.
